![]() I got the 120 race thinking it would be fun, but I don't use it very often. The decel would be fine if you will be towing on grades. I would recommend 60 econo for highway driving, 80 econo for in town driving, and a tow tune (I use the 80 tow). _Ĭhris - those aren't the tunes I'd recommend for a F350. Switch to the decel tune at the top of the pass, then back to the 40-tow tune after you get to the bottom of the grade. Much cheaper than an exhaust brake, and works great. It's a simple exhaust brake - closes the exhaust back pressure valve and causes some engine drag, so you don't have to use the brakes as much. This is a simple tune used only for coming down the mountain. Ford sells an auxiliary idle controller (AIC) for this, but it's several hundred dollars.Ĥ. That prevents incomplete combustion that can cause all sorts of nasties to form in your engine. If you allow the engine to idle more than a couple of minutes, maybe to run the AC while you're stopped, then you want to elevate the idle to about 1,200 RPM. You'll love the performance of the 40-tow tune.ģ. ![]() You don't tow, but you need the same tune a pickup would need when towing heavy trailer.
